I just recently went on a much needed vacation to Costa Rica with a couple of friends.  Before leaving I knew I would need to pack the necessities: toothbrush, swimming trunks, shoes, and t-shirts, jumprope, and Xertube resistance bands…did I say jumprope and Xertube resistance bands?

Yep!  There is no reason why you shouldn’t workout  while on vacation, especially if there is not a gym within miles of where you are staying.  The jumprope and Xertube resistance bands are easy to pack in your suitcase and provides a challenging workout for all workout levels.  I guarantee you will feel any type of 20 minute workout in high elevations such as Costa Rica.  Let me know if you want me to send you a quick Vacation Workout to focus on strength, conditioning, core, and endurance: send me a an email to chickaro@p-fit.com

SPECIAL Project Fitness bootcamp this Saturday is sponsored by Acura.  After our bootcamp workout, Acura will shuttle everyone to the National Mall for Lululemon’s Annual Yoga on the Mall.  Bring a Mat!

“In conjunction with the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Lululemon Athletica staffers are trying to gather 1,000 people to practice yoga on the Mall. The Hypnotic Gurus (a band that fuses electronic music and the sitar) will perform before and during the class. Peggy Mulqueen will lead the event.

The free class will be held at the Sylvan Theater, located at 15th Street SW and Independence Ave. Bring a yoga mat. All levels are welcome.” (Washington Post)  It will begin at 10:30 AM.  I hope you can join me and Project Fitness in this great event.

This is the blog page for DC’s own Project Fitness.

Project Fitness is a concept that prompts physical fitness and exercise as a healthier lifestyle choice. We create awareness around health and fitness options while assisting individuals in maximizing their overall fitness goals through aerobic, endurance, flexibility, and resistance training exercise and education.

We promote lifestyles that generate social movement in which fitness serves as both a preventative tool and a solution to many health problems that are prevalent in our community. We believe that determining personal needs and goals are the first steps in working towards a healthier future.
